Silas Courland, Baron of Hillbrook, is a dangerous man by most opinions. A fighter through-and-through, he is just as easily provoked and overwhelmingly aggressive in court as he is on the battlefield. While he continues to advance in age, he has never backed down from a challenge. Silas makes no secret of his firm belief in Courland martial superiority, and openly mocks other noble houses for their lack of dedication toward war efforts. Despite this, his dedication toward the defense of weaker houses and the common citizen is second to none. Under Silas’ rule, Hillbrook has become a land of security and a check to the ambitions of less scrupulous nobles, even outside Mirwood. Few doubt Silas would ride to war given provocation.
